Boss'Hier - Museum of rural life
Immerse yourself in the past at Boss'Hier, the museum of rural life just a stone's throw from Gembloux!
In the heart of the peaceful village of Bossière, the Mémoire de Bossière association invites you to discover Boss'Hier, a charming museum dedicated to the rural life of yesteryear.
Housed in the former library, this warm and inviting place plunges you into the daily life of a village of yesteryear, through objects, souvenirs and personal accounts. A great opportunity to (re)discover local traditions and the rich heritage of our countryside.
As the museum's founders remind us: every object has a history, and deserves to be preserved so that it can be passed on. When you visit the museum, you'll discover a rich collection of farming tools, numerous old photos, and objects from everyday life or related to trades that no longer exist.
The collections continue to grow: a splendid carriage is currently being restored, and a second may soon be on display outside, close to the museum.
Thanks to donations, the "Boss'Hier" museum continues its work of acquisition and restoration. Perhaps you too have a "treasure" that could find its place in these collections? If so, don't hesitate to contact the curator: your object could become part of the museum's living history.
Visits to the museum, as well as to the church and its bell tower, are available on request only.
