Corroy-le-Château Castle
Written traces of a powerful Corroy family date back to the 11th century. In the 13th century, Count Vianden built an enormous fortress and castle in the middle of the marshes bordering the Duchy of Namur. The fortress was inspired by the plans of the Louvre. Over the centuries, it underwent various modifications, mainly to make it more comfortable.
The castle has passed from generation to generation in the family. The current Marquis de Trazegnies is a direct descendant of the Counts of Nassau who built the fortress.
Do you love manor houses and a medieval atmosphere? Don't miss the Médiévale de Corroy, held every last weekend in May.
